Currently there are statistics and studies on the negative impact of spam in people’s lives and businesses. Every day hundreds of millions of people worldwide have the same problem of losing valuable minutes of time in removing much of the e-mail received by the mere fact that these messages were never requested and most often there is no content that might be interesting.
Among the data collected, you will reach the absurd conclusion that there are people who over the years lose more than a full day of their lives, deleting spam, if added to the daily loss to the task. If every day you have to dedicate more than 4 minutes to choose what is and what is not important, you’re one of those people! Now imagine in a company with thousands of employees who access e-mail accounts, how many working days are lost over a year?
For this, among the most of other reasons, today is a real battle in order to at least minimize the harmful effects, that this practice brings to our daily lives. Everyone must take their share of contribution, except as a spammer, no one has ever felt anything in the morning when you open your mailbox and encounter a virtual avalanche of junk. In this sense, ESDS has made numerous efforts to contribute to a better Internet.
ESDS have some tools, like SpamAssassin, E-mail Filters, BoxTrapper, SPF (Sender Policy Framework), blacklists, etc. But these tools do not definitively end the problem, because some of them are made available on users demand and not all have the time or disposition or even knowledge of how to do.
For all these reasons and because we know how inconvenient spam can be, we implemented a new mechanism that already is having amazing results! This is a work in progress to analyze the flow of spam that reaches our server network, filter, categorize and list email addresses and domains that send spam to our users. The task has a team of analysts that mounts the databases and integrates them in the ACL (Access Control List) of our servers, so that all addresses senders of spam, are rejected. The measure customers got an amazing reduction of more than 50% in the volume of spam received and is growing day by day, to the extent that the work is permanent.
