Data Center services providers works continuously. Lots of power is used to keep data center working and running all the time. Most of the power is used in keeping the equipments cool, because continuous working can overheat the equipments and they can burn down. Mostly all of the data centers waste their power in their cooling systems.
Lots of research is been done by scientist to find out the solution. Up till now, the solution that is shown by the engineers team of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is great. Till now the team has invented a system that delivers the most favorable amount of cooling to the equipment. The system is not a complicated machine and it works as simple as a pendulum. It simply take temperatures readings of the servers which are in Data Center Building and air conditioning system keeps them cool on its own.
About 80% of the Data Center services providers are having their temperature sensors on their computer air control systems which are known as CRAH units. 11% of the data centers are using better solution then the previous one and placing their temperature sensors in the passage between server racks. The best way is to link the servers directly to the cooling system.
As team has said that their research will be ready commercially in a year and one strange fact they have discovered in this research is that, more than around 90% of the Data Centers are keeping their temperature down by 5 degrees cooler than it is required.
